If you booked tickets online, skip the welcome center and go to the museum directly. I would prefer parking in the back-lot so that i am close to both the museum and the studio. enjoy!
I have been through the wonderful museum several times. I've taken family and friends here. A great experience. I often go just to shop in the huge gift shop. You don't have to pay and there are so many beautiful things. There's also a large showroom of Corning cooking and serving were.
My kids keep asking to return. They have enjoyed the glass blowing hot shop and the free giveaways. (They don't sell the glass they make during demonstrations. They give it to enthusiastic guests in later shows)
One of my favorite museums! I literally spent 10am - 5pm just seeing all the exhibits and watching as many demos as I could. Still did not have time to see everything that I wanted to. Definitely would recommend spending a full day here. This is one of my favorite museums.
We absolutely loved this museum! My daughter is almost 4 and still loved it. She was able to make wind chimes, my husband blew an ornament, while I made a glass flower. The glass blowing was reasonably priced and is something everyone should experience. The cafeteria was a tad expensive, but had genuinely good food and very nice outdoor seating as well as nice booths to sit at. The pizza tasted authentic and I got a vegetable and sausage soup which was delicious. The museum felt very open and was beautiful everywhere you looked, as well as very educational. The staff was welcoming and offers sessions to view professional glassblowers almost every hour. They were good at involving the crowd and always give away what they make during the session.
The museum is full of interesting items. We have enjoyed wandering through. For an extra treat with an appropriate membership you can get a docent led tour.
Amazing place for a whole day's worth of fun and entertainment combined with learning. Make sure to visit all the demo sessions. Check out the "make your own glass studio" in the back lot. register to build your own creations.
The glass blowing activities are fun for all ages. Just be sure you know you need to pick up the glass the next day or have it shipped home.
