A unique and fascinating experience. Learned a lot about the many uses of glass including industrial and artistic. One of the most complete collections of glass art I've seen. There is something here for everyone. Many live demonstrations show how gaffers create works of art from molten glass. It's no surprise there are so many international visitors. This place has an international reputation.
Highly highly recommend this place. Great displays that made lasting impressions on my mind There was something for everyone and for all ages. Loved the artifacts that I could even take home from the gift shop.
A very well maintained , stylish museum. Great location , surrounded by hills. Ample parking available. Frequent shuttle buses ply from parking lots to the museum (even though it is just a walking distance).
The basement has a store and a restaurant. All neat and tidy.
There is also an option to "make your own glass" (for a slightly higher ticket price)
InBrought my three Great Nephew's ages 9,6,3 to the Hot Glass Studio this morning to make pumpkins for their Thanksgiving table. They made great pumpkins, the studio staff is so great working with the kids. The kids had a wonderful time, and will remember doing this always. This is such a wonderful hands on activity for both kids and adults. They will be so excited to see their pumpkins on the holiday table. The two older boys made snowmen last Christmas. We will be back again. The older boy wants to make a fused glass clock.
Truly a phenomenal experience! This is one of the best museums I have ever visited. The breadth of the collection is mind-boggling and the depth of interest is bottomless. The gift shop was intriguing with the availability for sale of artisan works, the book selection, and the variety of related products. However, I found the mass quantities of inexpensive costume jewelry, cheap watches, and unrelated articles of clothing a huge insult and very disappointing.
Altogether a grand museum.
Its a world of glass which is very well organized. Displayed a plethora of glass from the last 35 centuries. There are many Demonstrations, including a live glass making demo which is in a very well equipped theater.
