Was in Corning just for the afternoon and evening with my family. The food was very good but the service we received was terrible. It took over an hour for us to get food after placing our orders. Our waitress was not very courteous or friendly. It seemed like the waitress forgot to put our order in, wouldn't say sorry for the slow food, and never let us know the kitchen was backed up. She blatantly ignored us when we tried to flag her down for drink refills. The place was packed when we got there and they claimed that the kitchen just got backed up. We understand that can happen but it was never acknowledged to us until we said something at the end of the meal. Only after already paying did they even offer some free dessert. TLDR: food was good, service was slow and unfriendly.
Went for Sunday breakfast buffet. Decent selection that was constantly being replenished. Service was quick and friendly. Prices excellent. Decor is clean and updated. Would recommend.
One of the reasons I was so excited to come celebrate my birthday in the Finger Lakes area was I had heard so many great things about this little Italian Place called Sorge's. While food did not disappoint, the service received is the reason why I gave this visit a 2-star. We arrived at 7:30pm without a reservation and had a short wait which was great! Brittany was our server and while at first seemed very bubbly, she did not tend to our table well. Tables that arrived after us received their items before us, our waters were never refilled unless we asked, and another waitress ended up bringing our bread after we received our side salads. We shared with her that it was my birthday and she cared very little. At the end of the night, we felt that the service we received was of much lower quality than of those around us. For being my birthday dinner, expectations were not met and we left very disappointed.
Clean, friendly atmosphere. Excellent food and drinks. Wonderful service!
